Welcome to Dawnbreak, Alevskaya. We are a small fishing and farming community that has long sought to remain in touch with our natural surroundings. It’s a quiet, close knit town for the most part. The locals can be a little rough, but they’re friendly enough once they warm up to you. However, odd things are known to happen around town. Every now and again mutilated corpses crop up near or within the forest, and it isn’t uncommon for citizens to disappear for weeks at a time – if they return at all. Those who do know what’s happening certainly aren’t telling, but rest assured we’ve got everything under control. You’ll do fine here – assuming you don’t cause us any trouble, understood?

ABOUT
Psychics, or Seers, are humans born with the ability to see into the future. This ability ranges in power from psychic to psychic, and from bloodline to bloodline. Psychic abilities are most often passed on from either one or both parents having the sight, but there are rare cases of the ability either skipping bloodlines or manifesting in a new bloodline. Their abilities are most active near ley lines, and each psychic has a personal item (tarot cards, tea leaves, coins, etc.) that helps them focus their ability. Although Psychics have a higher level of insight than the average human, their gift is not a sure thing. What they see is often a potential outcome that can be gained from a course of action. Should the course of action change, the outcome will change as well. Often regarded as the weakest of the supernaturals, Psychics do not have any additional physical strength, no healing abilities, no improved senses. They simply See. More often than not, unless a psychic is going through emotional turmoil or confusion, they are most in tune with themselves and therefore most clearly able to see their own path. This means that it can sometimes be difficult to take them by surprise or kill them.
EVEN YOUR EMOTIONS HAVE AN ECHO
Like the witches, some bloodlines of Seers can trace their history back as far as the Salem Witch Trials. Because of their sight, they were also considered to be witches, and even the few modern day hunters aware of their existence consider them to be a type of witch. Fortunately for them, it was much more difficult to see a Psychic for what they are, and because it is more difficult, they are more populous than witches.

Most recently located in Savannah, Georgia, the psychics were taken into a Coven by the witches located there, to boost numbers and raise their chances of survival. However, they were never quite accepted as full members of the coven, because they were not witches. They were respected as associates and as advisors, but never as full members.

When it became evident that more than just one or two hunters were aware of their existence in Savannah, that there was now a pack of hunters who had dedicated themselves to finding the coven there, a powerful Seer named Elizabeth Cohen meditated on the issue at hand, and the answer became clear. The witches and psychics had to leave Savannah and find a new home.

At Elizabeth's urging, though her urging was met with some resistence, the group has made their way North to a small town called Dawnbreak, Alaska, known by Elizabeth to be a crossroads of Ley Lines and the last real home to werewolves. It is her hope that they will be welcomed with open arms, and so they are being sent in a few at a time so as not to bring too much attention to the sudden shift in population
GENERAL

Each psychic has an item that is personal to them that assists them in their divination. Many use Tarot cards, some use crystals, but there are many who use far less stereotypical items such as twigs from a certain tree, pennies, or any number of items. Without this item, a psychic is far weaker and able only to gain insight on things that affect them. Even then, they are unable to focus to intentionally gain insight.

Each vision, no matter how big or small, causes the one Seeing it to have a headache. These headaches are more severe the bigger the vision.

FUTURE SIGHT
Seers are able to see into the future to get a more accurate description of what the consequences of your course of action will be. While it is impossible for any creature to be one hundred percent sure of the future, because the future depends on so many small actions, they are often able to say with some surety that X action will produce X result.

ASTRAL PROJECTION
Some psychics are also granted/cursed with the ability to travel in their sleep while their body remains in place. Doing so has the same effect on the body as staying awake, and many of the psychics who are able to do this have difficulty controlling it, particularly if they are not calm and truly finished with their day when they go to sleep.

Psychics should beware, however, of other creatures that are able to travel the astral plane, especially those that only exist on the Astral Plane. A creature grounded on Earth that travels to the astral plane has what is called an Astral Tether - should that tether be broken, which is difficult but not impossible to do, the body will die while the soul is stuck in the Astral Plane.

MENTAL MANIPULATION
Believed by some to be the guardians of the supernatural, some powerful psychics are able to enter the minds of other people, manipulating their memories and planting beliefs into their heads. They are unable to completely alter someone's personality or make them completely change what they believe, but they are able to plant seeds of doubt and even sometimes alter what a person has seen if it was recent. This is especially useful when a human has witnessed an act of magic.
GENERAL

How can my character have a vision about another character?
Playing a Psychic will require proving to the staff of this site that you are able to work with and plot with other people, so as not to write their plot for them. Every vision about another character will require working with the person playing that character, and it ultimately comes down to either their decision or the staff's decision.

What happens if a psychic is bitten?
There are no known hybrids. When a witch or psychic is bitten, they become very ill, often lasting over the course of several weeks. If this illness does not kill them (depending on their own fortitude and potential intervention from witches), nothing happens. They do not change.

How long do psychics live?
Psychics have the same life span as humans.

What do Psychics smell like to werewolves?
Psychics smell slightly inhuman, but otherwise do not have a distinctive scent.

How do you kill a psychic?
Psychics can be killed in the same way any mortal can.

Do psychics have any weaknesses?
Psychics do not have any weaknesses that any human or other supernatural creature would not have.

How long does a psychic pregnancy last?
Nine months.

What happens if a psychic and a human have an infant?
There will be a 50/50 chance of the infant being born either psychic or human
